At approximately 1220 hours, Firefighter Steven Passamano was on patrol working in his profession as a Lyndhurst Police Officer, when he located smoke emanating from a structure subsequent hearing an audible fire alarm sounding.  Passamano was able to make a quick knock down of the fire.  Upon arrival, Engine 1 stretched a 2" hand line to the second floor due to the heavy residual amount of black smoke and remaining fire.
